He isn’t up for election this year, but Miami Commissioner Joe Carollo‘s political action committee had a really good fundraising quarter at the end of the year, getting $202,066 in contributions in the three months through Dec. 31.
What for? Maybe to pay the legal fees for his multiple appeals, since the days of him abusing the city attorney’s office are apparently numbered.
The largest donations, according to the campaign finance report filed last month, came from Jorge Mas, part owner of InterMiami soccer team and real estate enterprise that is building the Miami Freedom Park shopping/office center and stadium at the former Mel Reese Golf Course. Mastec gave $50,000 Oct. 20 and another $15,000 Nov. 7.
That’s a $65,000 investment in someone a jury found guilty of violating first amendment rights from the son of the man who founded the Cuban American National Foundation. Life is weird.
Another $30,000 came in six separate $5K checks from companies owned by or tied to real estate developer Craig Robins. Three on Oct. 13 and three on Nov. 16. Why do they do that?

Another $15,000 each came from Aabad Melwani, the operator of the Rickenbacker Marina, in two quell checks from two companies on Oct. 2, and real estate developer Michael Simkins, in two checks, one for $10,000 Nov. 17 and one for $5,000 Nov. 20.
Another $10K came from real estate developer Michael Wohl, in one single check Nov. 8 and $5,000 came from Bayside Marketplace.
It’s interesting to note that all these donors gave Carollo contributions after he was found liable for $63.5 million in damages because he violated the First Amendment rights of two Little Havana businessmen. Why hasn’t the well dried up?

What I can say is that the dog and cat statue was a scheme concocted between Sarnoff and Carollo. The same goes with going after Ball and Chain. Loco Carollo was stupid enough to listen to Sarnoff and did they same to Ball and Chain as Sarnoff did to John El Masry when he owned Mr. Moe in Coconut Grove. This is why Sarnoff has taken a unique interest on being part of Carrollo’s legal team. Sarnoff is a long time maritime attorney and trying to reinvent himself as a land use attorney, which he is not.
He, like Carollo, is a pathological liar and sick person.
Well things are getting interesting. Apparently “Trick Vicky’s” brother in-law, Adrian Morales is going through a nasty divorce and midst his personal turmoil was involved in his brother’s, Carlos Morales, stealing homes from los viejos and flipping them.
Before the scope of the investigation extended to him, he resigned from the City of Miami Beach as its Director of Asset and Property Management and went to the private sector to work for Codina Partners.
Adrian would tip off Carlos and Vicky on properties in the City of Miami Beach to flip. We was a silent partner.
