To the current leadership of Miami Dade County, City of Miami and District 6:
I am writing to express the profound outrage and deep sorrow felt by many Miami residents over the disgraceful handling of the Rickenbacker Fishing Pier closure. This pier, the last of its kind in our city, was more than just a place to cast a line—it was a symbol of Miami’s history, a sanctuary where generations of residents connected with the sea, found peace, and created memories that define what it means to be a Miamian.
This cherished public space has been neglected for years, a glaring example of how the needs of everyday Miamians have been ignored. Now, without warning or a credible explanation, the pier has been shut down, robbing the community of one of its last remaining places to connect with the natural beauty of our city. This isn’t just a failure of maintenance; it’s a failure of leadership, a betrayal of the trust that the people of Miami have placed in you.
Let’s be clear: the so-called “temporary closure” is a lie. The real plan, hidden behind a veil of deceit, is to never reopen the pier. Instead, you intend to demolish it to facilitate your grandiose and elitist vision for the Rickenbacker Causeway—a project that will drag on for a decade, catering only to the wealthy and erasing yet another piece of Miami’s soul.
This closure is just the latest in a series of actions that reveal where your true loyalties lie. The push for privatization, the unchecked luxury developments, and the systematic erosion of public spaces all point to a city leadership that’s increasingly out of touch with the people it’s supposed to serve. Long-time Miamians, the very backbone of this city, are being pushed aside in favor of affluent newcomers and corporate interests.
If you believe this won’t impact your campaigns, think again. The people of Miami are fed up with being lied to, neglected, and disregarded. We demand immediate transparency, an honest explanation for your actions, and a genuine plan to restore the pier or provide an equally accessible alternative. Anything less will be seen as yet another betrayal of the residents who have called this city home for decades.
It’s time for you to demonstrate that you care about all Miamians—not just those with deep pockets. If you fail to act, you’ll be remembered as the leaders who sold out Miami’s last sanctuary by the sea for the benefit of the wealthy few.
Sincerely,
the Miamians headed to the polls this election day
Would you be our person who expose the abuse of overtime payment within the county. Employees have YTD more than 50K in OT and no one care about. They are hundreds.
An unobstructed criminal investigation into Miami-Dade Circuit Court Case # B-18-019026 would prove interesting, but Miami-Dade County State Attorney Katherine Fernandez has barricaded it
There’s a great story with close to 100 victims in Miami Dade county.
The victims actually started a Facebook page and have documented their cases and stories.
79 individual have all ready reported the incident / fraud the DBPR, and to the Attorney General Ashly Moody. The FBI and local law enforcement have also been notified as well as local permitting offices. The alleged preparator is Joseph Vales of Sunshine Pools and contracting group Inc. He is a former convicted felon. Yes that is correct prior to this new scam he was in prison for Medicare Fraud. Now he is back at it but in the pool business. Along with his brother Raul Valdes they have tricked, lied, and taken from close to 100 victims if not more. He promises to build victims pools and leaves them with a hole, takes the majority of the money and them disappears. From me personally he has taken 26k and has abounded the job. In two weeks it will be a year since he started my pool. He doges calls makes up lies, states he has my material, states he will be by the property, forges customers signatures on notarized documents, make threats to customers, and continues with lies. To date i have no pool, no material. He runs his scam through SUNSHINE POOLS AND CONTRACTING GROUP INC. Our face book page is has the same company name but with the word victims. the listed people or agency’s have all been informed Javior Souto, David Borrero, Katherine Rundle Fernandez, Marco Rubio, local Permitting office’s, DPBR, Ashley Moody.
Jim Defede’s morning show revealed that the lone vote against masks for Dade schools, Dr. Libby Navarro is actually not a doctor at all. No Ph.D., just an honorary degree (like Bill Cosby?) from the University of New Spain located in a 7th floor office somewhere in town.
Is this for real? Or does she actually hold a legitimate doctoral degree? Can somebody answer that question, please. Thanks.
I’m new to this site and I commend you digging up such captivating subject-matter. I’m now living in south Broward but, when cut, I still bleed Hialeah schlok. Any chance of ever making a t-shirt available to the loyal readers? Keep up the good work….very entertaining, especially interjecting the Spanish slang terminology.

Mike Vazquez, Trump has given us all a s**t sandwich, as he laughs all the way to the bank, grasping for every dollar he can get for himself. He doesn’t even pretend to care about anyone else. Are you impressed by his Castro-like move to authoritarian rule?
You are the kind of hypocrite who criticizes Castro for his authoritarianism, because it’s not YOU in power. You don’t give a damn about democracy. You just want to be the one kicking asses.

Have been calling the Clerk of Court’s office 305-275-1155 for a week. HOURS on the phone, voice recording places me on hold for over 30 minutes, then at some point, comes back and says, “we are busy, call again.” What kind of service is this for taxpayers? This phone system needs to be looked into. At least Permitting has a callback system. Clerk of Court’s is useless in this sense and needs exposing, based on my experience. Am writing Mr. Ruvin, for all it is worth. The way SOME of the county employees treat callers is abhorrent (in other departments of the county). I mail out 2 commendation letters for every complaint, but the ilk of what we seem to be running into is requiring more complaint, than commendation letters. They need to train everyone on how to treat human beings that help pay their salary. Sad to say. Phone system needs to be streamlined. Taxpayers FIRST. .
There’s a good political story brewing in the HOA Doral Isles. With around 6,000 residents, DI is arguably the biggest suspected HOA racket in South Florida. The list of residents is a who’s who and includes major political figures and television personalities.
Do you have a way for a person to submit a news tip anonymously?
Curious what Brito is up to these days with Phil Erhs PAC
