Voters in congressional District 27 got a call this week from “a national public opinion firm” that was obviously seeking to turn people against Sen. Annette Taddeo, who is running in the primary for the chance to challenge Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar.
Ken Russell who? The Miami Commissioner, also running in the Democratic primary, was not mentioned once.
This goes to show two things: (1) Nobody expects Russell to win, and (2) Salazar fears Taddeo enough to start the negatives early.
The timing is curious. With less than a week left for the primary election, could the push poll be meant to turn people to Russell for Aug. 23? It can’t possibly be close enough to make a difference.

Ladra lives in the District. “Amber” called Wednesday evening. The first few questions were the typical sweeping ones. Do you think the U.S. is headed in the right direction or going off track? How about Florida? Do you approve or disapprove of the job Joe Biden is doing? How about Ron DeSantis?

Annette Taddeo or Maria Elvira Salazar?
Then it became way focused.
Would we prefer Maria Salazar in Congress to provide checks and balances to Joe Biden or someone who will help Joe Biden pass his agenda? Would we prefer Annette Taddeo, who wants to take our guns, or Maria Salazar, who will defend parental rights in education? Would we prefer someone who will focus on keeping abortion legal in all 50 states or someone who will focus on reducing the price of gas and groceries and cost of living?

Then came the push questions. Would Ladra be more likely or less likely or would it make no difference if she knew that Taddeo called Hispanics racists, gave money to convicts, voted against pay raises for cops and firefighters, wants to spend “billions more on paying people not to work,” hurts our middle class and economy, wants to “allow young children from kindergarten through third grade to be indoctrinated with radical ideology” in schools, supports Biden’s “wasteful spending” and will be a “rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi.”
Is that all?
It sounded like there should have been a disclaimer at the end of the call: “Paid for by Salazar’s political action committee” or the Republican National Committee. Pero nada.
“Republicans can’t figure out Annette and they know she is a huge threat,” said campaign manager Nick Merlino. “That’s why they continue to make up things and throw whatever they can at the wall to see what sticks.
“Fifteen consecutive questions and they all lead to the same answer: Republicans are running scared.”

I am supporting Taddeo we need more progressive politicians here in Miami like they do in New York and San Francisco. I like those cities but I pretty much hate Miami, I don’t really want to leave though i just wish it were more like New York or another fun city. I’m from a rich family so I don’t really need to worry about this stuff but I’m just saying. Plus Salazar is too tall, I like women that are a bit shorter especially since I’ve been gaining weight these past few years people keep calling me pudgy and telling me I need to hit the gym. Anyhoo, VOTE TADDEO!

Here calling the other candidate a Socialist / Communist works thus we see it here over and over .

IMO the base in both parties have no problem with their Dictator and as far as autocrats they are interchangeable .
Policies are different but the politicians often become the other head on the two headed serpents body and the hypocrisy of both camps is staggering the base rather not see it .
Republican or Democrat base at least they vote , move in some direction not apathetic slime and one thing which I have learned living in a little gated community in Doral , it is those I consider a bit more extreme as far as Rep / Dem who have made a stand against corruption / abuse of HOA power which is interesting .
Though they want the same thing it is a tough alliance to hold together , lol.
Since I joined them not to incur problems , hurt the alliance when individuals ask me who I like for 2024 I tell them.

At one time such offensive techniques would be decried. Not apparently anymore. The Nixon dirty tricks have become part of the tools used standardly and currently by his old party.
I’d prefer someone who doesn’t dwell so much on other countries’ dictators and stops rubber stamping what Florida’s wanna be dictator tells his reps to bring to him. Our people would’ve done much better if the legislature had been in session to protect a woman’s right to choose and solved the expensive insurance problems rather than frittering away their time and OUR money on imagined issues just to promote nationally a basically unknown politician. .

Maria Elvira has proven to be a moderate Republican that effectively represents this district. She’s conservative but isn’t afraid to buck the party on some social issues. I was skeptical about her, but she has won me over.
I just to admire Ms. Salazar by appearing as a savvy journalist, always trying to hit the new journalist home run, interviewing the former Cuban dictador, the current Venezuelan dictator, but to my view, she has fallen deep by becoming a political parrot of the radical right. But how the Cuban saying goes: lo que sube como mono, cae como coco!
