Who is the brother?
That’s the question everyone was asking on Tuesday after it was revealed that Miami-Dade State Attorney Kathy Fernandez-Rundle recused herself in the case of accusations against Miami’s Three Amigos by former Police Chief Art Acevedo before he was fired.
In a scathing 10-page memo, Acevedo accused Miami Commissioners Joe Carollo, Manolo Reyes and Alex Diaz de la Portilla of abusing their office, specifically of using the code enforcement department, to attack their political enemies and critics. He said they had a “target hit list” and used the police department also to bully and harass haters.
Acevedo was unceremoniously fired in October, but not before he was able to send copies of the September memo to the FBI and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office.

The latter started investigating the allegations when it apparently “discovered,” ahem, that there was a conflict: One of the state attorney’s insiders is apparently the brother of someone who could be a material witness to the corruption.
Who is it? Sources (and logic) say it’s someone in code enforcement.
Gov. Ron DeSantis assigned Broward State Attorney Harold Pryor as special prosecutor on Dec. 17. But they could have started earlier.
Okay. But why did it take the state attorney’s office so long to discover this? According to the Miami Herald, the email sent by Fernandez-Rundle to the governor’s office was Nov. 18, that’s two full months after the 10-page memo.
“During the course of [our] criminal investigation, we became aware that a substantial witness to potential wrongdoing … is the brother of a Senior Attorney in our office whom the State Attorney relies upon regularly for wise counsel for her most sensitive legal matters,” the email stated.
Here’s another question: Can Broward just handle all of Miami’s shit? Because we still have the unaccounted COVID relief gift cards and the ghost employees and the Rickenbacker Marina shakedown, among other things to investigate.
Is this brotherly love the reason why other Miami investigations stall?

There’s most likely a Six Degrees from Kevin Bacon thing happening between the SAO and the city of Miami all the time. Everyone has a primo or in-law that works in one or the other. Why not go to Broward — or even further up north — to get these very real corruption claims thoroughly investigated all the time?
This is, of course, good news. This is some measure of advancement. It means that, finally, someone is looking in on the shenanigans in the city. It shouldn’t be hard now that it’s out of the conflict-of-interests zone to put a case together.
There are photographs and witnesses to Carollo’s harassment of some Little Havana businesses. There is a paper trail to the laws that were made to single out these properties. There are former employees who are willing to talk. All it takes is a little bit of interest.
And not being someone’s hermano.

Imagine everyone here watched the youtube video of Commissioner Jose Pepe Diaz when he was pulled over in Key West for DUI while on his motorcycle and he refused to take the breath test as he failed every test the cop gave him.
It was interesting when he said he lost some balance while in the Marines , pffffffft .
Either way he beat the charges so not holding my breath anything comes of this .
At least glad the cop who arrested him kept his job because if it was Miami that poor cop is history .
So yes investigations are better then nothing but sometimes it is a forgone conclusion that no one will be found guilty of a thing and Broward though not as bad as Miami is not a clean place and ALL these Commissioners have friends / connections in Broward and rest of Florida .

”Back in December, Key West police pulled Diaz over on his Harley-Davidson for driving 74 mph on South Roosevelt Boulevard, where the speed zone is 35 mph. Diaz was in the Keys for the Key West Poker Run motorcycle weekend.
The state played three videos of Diaz to the jury, including dash cam video of his failed field sobriety test. Police also said Diaz’s breath smelled of alcohol.
Diaz’s lawyers argued that their client had trouble with the test because he is overweight and has balance issues, which made it hard for Diaz to comply with the test in what the lawyers called a “high stress environment.”
“It’s embarrassing to me, arrested,” said Diaz, “and everything that we went through … I felt that I wasn’t guilty of what it was. That’s why I went through the system.”
The state had no comment after the verdict.
Diaz will get his license in September. For now he can only drive to and from work. He will also have to pay multiple fines, considering he admitted to speeding and not having his license.”
Why would an ambitious and and devout self-preservationist, notorious for protecting powerful incumbents punt the ball after two months? Was it getting too hot to handle? Clearly yes but why? Found out somebody else is out there is building the same case and she couldn’t pull her usual no-grounds-for-prosecution act without putting herself in the crosshairs of a State/Fed obstruction of justice charge?
Just sayin” this excuse rings VERY hollow.
Best case outcome Broward prosecutor makes the case. Bad guys get time. (State/Fed) investigation backs off and is never revealed. KFR goes on to win a sixth term.

The Zika mosquito was found all over Florida and think only Miami sprayed or sprayed for weeks .
There was no spraying further north by my parents and they had the same mosquito there . There wasn’t the Miami ” news ” hysteria .
The Mayor there did not find the poison safe and could be wrong but think Rick Scott left the decision up to local Mayors which of course here in Miami meant money to be made with contract kick backs , etc thus going to happen.
Interesting enough as wall to wall corrupt as Puerto Rico is their Governor at the time did not allow any spraying as found it unsafe .
IMO the Miami Cosa Nostra politicos Gimenez , Rundle and EVERY Commissioner would drop Agent Orange on us if it meant money for them.

As you know a group based out of Florida CAN (Citizens Against Naled) said the active chemical in the spray called naled if diluted is worthless and money thrown away , if not diluted it causes serious problems to humans , think nerve problems and some say cancer .
Knowing Miami politicos you never know and I hope it was diluted but if so you are correct it was money thrown away .
On another note though I and every one in my family regardless of age is vaccinated with booster which was our choice when this mosquito poison came out which was way before sprayed in Miami the CDC said it was safe at the recommended dose .
So when people say they do not trust the CDC , They have a valid point.
In the category of “Miami Poop”, don’t forget Alina Hudak, former “Deputy Mayor” and head of mosquito control at the County, buddy of Rundle, and now Beach City Manager. During the height of Zika madness in late 2016, she ordered mosquito spraying flights that were known to her to be useless against mosquitoes, larva, etc. Emails show that the Feds fully informed Hudak and her then head staffer Paul Mauriello that the flights, at that specific time of year, would have exactly zero effect on mosquitoes. The flights were ordered by Hudak anyway, and plenty of taxpayer money was burned only to make her and her boss Gimenez at the time look like “they were doing something about Zika”. ..this has been reported to SAO and other entities, but the silence is deafening.
Agree Rundle is The problem ! If They investigate Corruption in Miami Dade County ,WE will be W/O Politicians . look at You tube Uber CEO in NY talking about the Friendship in Miami Dade and The Pay to Play Mentality ? This is CORRUPTION CULTURE Where Donations are like a BRIBES Lay AWAY ?
Rundle has spent decades enabling criminals like Arthur Teele, Keon Hardemon, Joe Carollo, Alex DLP, Joe Garcia, Pepe Diaz, Gimenez and many others escape prosecution and indictments. How about developers and vendors paying money to Barbara Hardemon, Keon Hardemon’s aunt? Not only did Keon vote for those “clients” Keon became SUPER AGGRESSIVE pushing those “clients” schemes. SUPER AGGRESSIVE. Rundle? Duh.

Lol that was good about Broward handling our affairs but Broward , Miami and Key West are three places that would be better off having someone else handling our affairs .
My guess is ” unaccounted COVID relief gift cards ” they have already been stolen by the Cosa Nostra Commissioners as far as shoe boxes of them given out to their family , friends .
If any ever recovered it will be a drop in the bucket .
Rundle is the problem and just mentioned here in previous post about new laws some are trying to pass .
She is the enabler of the Cosa Nostra politicos , she throws the little people are crumb once in a blue moon but her main job is to protect her corrupt friends and she does it so well.
