More on Hialeah candidate Angelica Pacheco’s arrests — and her web of lies
  • Sumo

Hialeah council candidate Angelica Pacheco is trying to make herself the victim, but records show that she has victimized others.

Pacheco went on Spanish-language TV and a sad Facebook interview in recent days calling the articles in Political Cortadito about her false and paid political attacks.

Well, Pacheco lies. A lot. Documents don’t. And Ladra has more of them now.

Turns out her first arrest (that we know of), the one that she blurted out because Ladra didn’t have it, was in Broward. Hollywood, to be exact. She was not a minor, as she told a Telemundo reporter. She was 18 when she was arrested. And in the paperwork that Ladra now has, it lists Pacheco’s mother, Elba Xenes, as the victim and Pacheco as the aggressor.

Pacheco, then named Angelica Caballero, was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one charge of battery. The offense date is in April of 2004 and there was a warrant issued for her arrest in July. There was another warrant issued for her arrest in Octoer of that year when she didn’t appear for an arraignment. She was arrested in December of 2004. She may have been 17 when it happened, but she was 18 when she was charged. As an adult.

She told Ladra and some sad Facebook dude hawking mortgages that she was defending her mother from an abusive stepfather and would do it all again. “I don’t regret it. I would do it 100 times. I will not sit back and watch as a loved one is abused,” she says on Facebook.

Ironic, isn’t it?

Pacheco says in her interviews that she was not prosecuted, but that’s a lie. She was. She changed her plea from not guilty in January of 2005 to no lo contendere that August and was sentenced to six months probation.

But wait, there’s more. In 2006, there was another warrant issued for her arrest for violating her probation. Seems to be something about not finishing her anger management classes. Which might have come in handy.

Because five years later, she was arrested for child abuse in 2011.

Pacheco says she only spanked her son but the report says the 5-year-old was struck with a belt — hours later the welt still showed — and that he told his teacher that mommy said not to tell. Which is sus af.

Pacheco tells everyone it never went to court. That’s another lie. That case was dismissed, eventually, but she entered a plea of not guilty. There was no trial, but it did go to court. The plea is a record in the clerk of Broward County courts. It has to go to court to be dismissed.

And it may have been dismissed because she had a good attorney, Richard Diaz, who represents a lot of police officers. You don’t need an attorney if the case never goes to court.

“She’s the aggressor. She’s a violent person. She has a violent past,” said Joe Carillo, a private investigator who said he tried to help Pacheco with research on her opponents at the beginning of the campaign.

“She beat the shit out of her mother,” said Carillo who met Pacheco years ago when he found her daughter, who had run away and was in danger.

When he tried to bill her $2,000 for his services on the campaign, she sent a very long email that rambles on — often in all caps, sometimes in red font — and says Carillo is extorting her. Here are a few excerpts (exclamation marks and capital letters all Pacheco’s, not Ladra’s):

“No one in their right mind will knowingly hire a Pl for services in the middle of a political campaign and not pay for the services. And you know that is not the case. Im very angry and hurt but. I WILL PAY YOU YOUR EXTORTION MONEY THIS IS AN EXTORTION SO YOU SHOULD CALL IT BY ITS NAME. STOP THE RUNAROUND AND PRETENDING TO BE ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT A LEGITIMATE DEBT FOR LEGITIMATE SERVICES

I NEVER CALLED YOU TO HIRE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS. I NEVER THOUGHT I’D BE A VICTIM OF EXTORTION BUT HERE I AM.

I WILL PAY YOUR EXTORTION BUT I NEED A FEW DAYS, I CANNOT EVEN TELL MY HUSBAND ABOUT THIS. HE WILL FLIP, IF HE FINDS OUT THEN I REALLY WON’T BE ABLE TO PAY YOU BECAUSE HE WILL NEVER ALLOW ME TO BE EXTORTED.

I WILL PAY YOUR DISGUSTING EXTORTION IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO OBTAIN THE MONEY WITHOUT MY HUSBAND FINDING OUT, YOU ARE AN EVIL, CRUEL EXTORTIONIST. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. LET THIS SERVE AS FORMAL NOTICE THAT IF YOU GO PUBLIC WITH THIS I WILL SUE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She repeats herself over and over again and sounds very unhinged. It goes on for 11 printed pages.

She says she will eventually pay him, but that she is low on funds because her businesses have not being doing well — despite getting more than $500,000 in COVID-19 relief PPP loans. Someone should tell her the payment would have to come from the campaign account not her business.

Pacheco wouldn’t go on the radio Tuesday with Ladra to discuss these revelations because she knows I would call her out on her lies. She has told other reporters and people who listen that Ladra is working for her opponent, Bryan Calvo. Which is, you guessed it, another lie.

Ladr has never even spoken to Calvo. The information published on Political Cortadito was, as always, independently confirmed by Ladra after she got the tips from someone who apparently doesn’t like newly-elected Mayor Esteban Bovo, because Bovo is supporting Pacheco.

But it’s worth repeating, all of it has been verified and documented.

Ladra called Pacheco again Tuesday to give her a second opportunity to explain. The candidate’s husband Daniel answered the phone, shouted an insult or two and hung up. Seconds later, the candidate’s mother called to do some damage control. She said that she explained everything to the police and “took it back” or something.

It was hard to understand because Angelica and Daniel Pacheco were talking over her and themselves in the background. They yelled at Ladra some more and then the call was disconnected. Not by Ladra.

Moments later, Elba Xenes texted Ladra. “My husband retracted everything. I have them in my possession and I will use them to discredit your malice,” she texted. “You are an evil woman.”

So, soon, we may be seeing the candidate’s mom on Spanish language TV and sad Facebook interviews to defend her victimized daughter. Ladra can’t help but wonder if the mother is still being abused.

  1. Another perfect criminal candidate for Hialeah

No wonder the corrupt mayor is supporting her

    Exactly what Hialeah deserves

  2. ” In Hialeah you don’t get much variety along the political spectrum. You can either choose the Redcoat, the conservative Republican, or the Redcoat, the Republican conservative. ”

Hialeah has never had a Republican since we Cubans took over just self serving , pocket lining , ZERO accountability , what the politicos there are involved in is badly done , poorly run city engulfed by corruption .

Third world politicians who call themselves Republican to get elected by those who have never lived under real Republicans .

Castro this and Castro that while the Hialeah Cosa Nostra politicians robs the place blind .

My parents live further north in the state where things are done once and done correctly not these pocket lining unnecessary ridiculous projects .

Streets there are paved at a fraction of what they cost here in Miami , done quickly , correctly and the white divider paint is thick and lasts years unlike the watered down disaster you see in Miami .

Yes its a silly example lol but it’s true and makes my point.

Though you are liberal as far as social issues you would welcome real Republicans which in Hialeah , truth is in Miami period you have never had since we took over .

If I ran the RNC I would sue Miami so the politicos could not call themselves Republican .

Compared to Cuba , of course Hialeah politicians are great ONLY because it is still part of the USA at least on paper ( lol ) but compared to the USA , Hialeah politicos are Banana Republic .

I do not live in Hialeah but first 3 years or so I lived here I would go like once every 2 months taking a family member to a clinic there .

It was an eye opener and sadly IMO most there came when I came or after .

  3. She’s violent, likes to ramble and scams the federal government out of money? Thats just going to endear her to even more voters now. Bet if she goes out and calls her opponent a “sapingo” she’ll win in a landslide. LOL Keep clutching those pearls, Mary.

  4. I am grateful to Ladra for many things. Several times she has provided the ammunition for my tiny political weapon, my store message board, as she has done in this particular case. She uncovers the facts, and I merely set them to rhyme. I was already supporting Bryan Calvo, even though I am a dyed in the wool liberal tree hugger. In Hialeah you don’t get much variety along the political spectrum. You can either choose the Redcoat, the conservative Republican, or the Redcoat, the Republican conservative. Still, I can support a young conservative, if the only alternative is a lunatic, election result denying, Jesus is the only way, Trump prostate licker.
But now I am grateful to Ladra for something even greater than this. When someone can add to my vocabulary, this increases the palette of colorful words from which I can paint my poetry.
“Sus af”. Thank you, Ladra, I am eternally in your debt.

  5. Don’t kid yourself a lot of voters not just Hialeah but all over Miami like drama , unsavory traits in their candidates .

Actually I am not telling you something you do not already know .

  6. ” She repeats herself over and over again and sounds very unhinged. It goes on for 11 printed pages.”

So far with what I have read she sounds perfect for Hialeah .

As Christopher Walken would ask ” Hialeah , have you been ? “
