Blood on his hands, Carlos Gimenez ditches TV show post coup attempt

Medical emergency my fat Cuban ass.

Congressman (ew) Carlos Gimenez cancelled a television interview this past weekend because he was embarrassed, full of regret and genuinely afraid of how people, including his Cuban-American core voters, would take his objection to the Democratic process and involvement in what amounts to nothing less than a coup attempt to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power. In the United States.

Grimenez was supposed to go on WPLG Local 10’s This Week in South Florida — a coveted Sunday morning earned media spot politicians jostle for — and discuss his treacherous vote to overturn electoral college results in Arizona and Pennsylvania. In other words, his backstabbing move against the American voters for a dictator in waiting.

And to do so after the cult leader prodded his crazed supporters to attack the Capitol in an act of domestic terrorism that claimed five lives.

¡Que descaro!

His office said Sunday that Gimenez, who cancelled the morning of the live show, had suffered some painful kidney stones. Well, if that’s true, Ladra would call that divine justice.

But it’s just as likely to be made up. After all, if you’re going to fake a medical emergency, kidney stones is the way to go: It goes away by itself and there’s no evidence it was ever even there. And people will feel sorry.

So it’s either God working in one of her mysterious ways or this sudden “medical emergency” had more to do with his testicles than his kidneys. Or, perhaps, the urgent surgical removal of a gelatinous spine.

Both are believable.

Maybe what kept Grimenez from the prime Sunday morning gig at WPLG Local 10’s This Week in South Florida was the sudden realization that he couldn’t possibly defend his actions, which were in the wake of an self-preservation coup attempt and unprecedented attack on the Capitol. Or maybe it was the realization that he was the only South Florida Republican who agreed to go on TV after he voted with and for President Donald Trump, even after the POTUS had instigated that insurrection.

¡Que descaro!

Of course, Grimenez — who once wanted to give The Donald our public golf course in Key Biscayne — didn’t make this realization all on his own. It’s not like the trip to D.C. increased his bandwidth.

The most likely scenario is that after WPLG’s Glenna Milberg tweeted he’d be on her show, the only Republican to respond to the inquiry, former Congressman Carlos Curbelo, who has turned into a political advisor since he lost his seat, called and said “Nah, bruh.”

Ladra would have cancelled, too. In fact, he may stay hiding for a while. Because while almost every other Republican tried to distance herself or himself from Trump after the failed siege — even Sen. Marquito Rubio decided not to overturn states’ election results where they favored Joe Biden — Gimenez still did Trump’s bidding.

Guess he’s sticking with what worked for him so far.

  1. Great editorial, and it sums up my view of these three empty-headed, self-serving seditionists. As an active Coconut Grove voter, who fights with many others against corruption, code violations, environmental neglect and our ‘three amigo’ commissioners, Gimenez has done our city absolutely no favors over the years. I have nothing but contempt for him. Now, Salazar disappoints with her vacuous inability to vote to impeach Trump and her continued single-minded focus on banishing anything set for public good as ‘socialist’. This is the same dog whistle used to loosen building codes and set up favors for developers in our city–any attempt to protect neighborhoods gets labeled ‘communist’. I have been a Republican for 40 years, but want these folks purged from our ranks. I no longer recognize this party; it is lost its ways and does not deserve my, or many other people’s support. Thanks for the article. Well done.

  2. this chat is full of left side ReTarDs, insurrection? why? cause the mainstream media says so? how about all the BLM terrorist burning and attacking people? around 10 black people died during the BLM terrorism however you ladra and these other reTards dont want to talk about it because you know your democrat side is full of crap and hypocrites.

  3. Caballero de Paris,
You are as off base as the character your moniker is named after.
Carlos Gimenez does have blood on his hands.
The shoddy work done by Munilla Construction at FIU caused that bridge to fall down and kill and injure several people. The contract Munilla received was a sweetheart deal influenced by Gimenez and his caste of lobbyists.
While mayor, Gimenez took it upon himself to destroy a professional core of Miami Dade County employees whom he replaced with sympathetic puppets short on experience on long on submission to their benefactor. This he did out out of pure jealousy, having spent a career as a fireman at City of Miami and playing second fiddle to the County Fire Department.
Gimenez’s record of firings, transfers and total chaos of government departments has led to a chaotic system laced with the inexperienced department heads such as Alice Bravo and company. No one wishes another human being harm (except Gimenez) so if he suffers from kidney stones- que se cague en su madre.

  4. Me here thinking how Maria Elvira caught a tremendous lucky break by not having to be there and take a character stand. I would love to be wrong, however, sadly I think she would have gone the way of the rest of our amoral delegation.

  5. Ladra I love you but really wishing pain and suffering on another human being because you disagree with them politically? Besides I haven’t seen you in church in a while (maybe because I’ve never been) so I doubt God will do you any divine favors (though I hear making it rain in the collection plate might help).

“Blood on his hands” the new catchphrase for anyone that does something you disagree with. So by the standard set by some, anyone of YOU that voted for a president that started or oversaw a war where soldiers and civilians were killed has “blood on his/her hands” (stop trying to wipe it off on someone else).

Yes, some Deranged and Deluded Trump Nuts got all dressed up for Halloween, drank lots of Jack Daniels and probably smoked to much meth then proceeded to have what resembled a bizarre frat hazing in the capitol building. Yes, tragically a police officer was murdered and a woman rioter shot by police, but where was the “outrage” from those “shocked” and “appalled” today when people were murdered, businesses (livelihoods) burned and government buildings attacked during the summer? Be real a bunch of riled up idiots in costume that carry away souvenirs while taking selfies do not constitute an insurrection or revolt, it’s a riot just like the ones in the summer, except with paler participants and cheesier army/navy store garb.

Carlos Gimenez vote in congress was constitutionally sanctioned, you may or may NOT agree with it and before you would like elections will be here once again (Something like Freddy Kruger and Herpes) and you’ll be free to vote accordingly (unless you say something inappropriate on twitter, Facebook or Instagram). BTW the congress will vote on other things other than Electoral College and Impeachment (both of which are forgone conclusions)…trust me.

Remember 4 years ago when some (other) people were having hissy fits about Hillary losing (again / I do) and Madonna said at a rally in Washington DC “Today I want to blow up the white house” maybe that crowd had smoked to much weed and popped too many Xanax (as opposed to JD and Meth) to go and attack anything. The Weather Underground (No it’s not a new club) actually detonated a bomb in the US Capitol Building in 1971 and the Pentagon in 1972, those were real domestic terrorist.

January 20th can’t come soon enough.

  6. ” What else can be expected from a corrupt politician such as Carlos Gimenez?
This amoeba of a human being stole the 2012 mayoral election in Miami Dade County with the help of corrupt campaign manager Al Lorenzo. He went on to steal every dollar he could by handing out county contracts to his relatives the Munilla brothers and every other sleazy lobbyist in this town. It all worked great until the FIU bridge collapsed and killed and hurt several citizens.”

Yet not only was he always reelected but rewarded with higher office .

What does that say about most voters here ?

Yet the politically apathetic who do not vote are so much worse .

  7. ”Yes, and Gimenez isn’t the only Florida Congressperson to do Trump’s bidding. A disgusting delusional display of cowardice.”

Mario Diaz Balart comes to mind .

Marco Rubio who is the ultimate up for sale fence straddler as far as he waits to see where the wind is blowing before acting did not vote against it only because he plans to run in 4 years and though a true career politician he is clever at selling himself as an ” outsider ” .

  8. Gimenez is not a Republican nor a Democrat which he once ran as but a TYPICAL Miami Cuban self serving politico who only believes in lining his pocket and his families , donors pockets .

I do not think we Cubans put out worse politicians then other Hispanics but we are the head of the snake here in Miami-dade and yes I find the majority of Cuban voters blind to this as the career criminals are reelected over and over .

Gimenez goes where the wind takes him so since so many Cubans here support Trump he now goes with that , if tomorrow they do not he will go with that ..

” Sadly for Gimenez he will have to sit on the sidelines for four years as a minority in the House of Representatives”

Well he can certainly throw contracts , favors towards his family and friends which was always his goal so he still wins but Miami lost with electing him to higher office.

  9. I call bullshit. Gimenez, who is himself a refugee from Castro’s Cuba voted in support of a coup to overthrow a legitimate government. Let that sink in. He can’t handle the job and there is no going back from this one. He can’t handle the bed he made for himself and the hypocrisy he demonstrated when he claimed he was a moderate on the campaign. He’s now showing his true colors as a extremist. He should be expelled from Congress just like every other member who supported a dictator and a failed coup.

  10. Wow, u sure hit this on the nail and once again, you tell it just like it is. Thank u! What an embarrassment & coward that man is. And indeed a traitor to this country by his political vote to support Trump’s insurrection. And what an excuse he pulled —it was/is a “descaro” coming from the descarado that he is indeed. Let him stand up to what he wrongly did — he sure does not (and never did) represent me in Miami! I suggest that the radio show keep inviting him back weekly (!!!!) until that time that his “stone” finally passes — we can wait, no problem!

  11. Carlos Gimenez has exhibited profiles in courage.. long on profile short on courage!
In his first significant vote as a member of Congress he embarrassed himself, his family, his community and the office he holds !
Being a member of Congress requires high ethical standards. Guess his government experience is more in tune with making deals to benefit his family and lobbyists!’
His actions are shameful and need to be remembered in the next election

  12. Hail and I salute Gimenez! All the dumb-o-crats who react and drink the koolaid are truly delusional. Watch Trump’s speech, oops, the mafia liberal media won’t show his speech where he says ‘PEACEFUL march,” can’t help it if a billionaire donor who paid for all the protestors this summer, paid those people who caused destruction. By the way dumb-o-crats, why didn’t you all denounce the car fires, buildings burning, and deaths this summer in Minnesota, Washington, Chicago and Florida just to name a few? Hypocrisy is a toxic illness, it shows that people can’t think for themselves and have more hate in their hearts than love for their country, as well as the TRUTH

  13. Fidel Castro is cheering in hell as he sees Gimenez and the other Trumpublicans undermine the US government and democracy. Gimenez & Co. have for years decried the cuban regime but, now they are doing its dirty work … hipocritas!

  14. Yes, and Gimenez isn’t the only Florida Congressperson to do Trump’s bidding. A disgusting delusional display of cowardice.

  15. Like you said, Gimenez medical emergency had to do with his lack of testicles, not with kidney stones. Frankly, all three Cuban American representatives (Gimenez, Diaz-Balart and Salazar), along with senator Marquito, are an embarrassment. For those of us that came from Cuba, it is really painful to see these individuals that share our history play along supporting the Trump lies and betray the Constitution and democratic principles. Have they forgotten the long history of coup d’etats and “bravas electorales” that Cuba has endured as a republic? Or is it that they are so enamored of the “strongman dictator” concept that defines our history that the concept of democracy has not taken root in their minds and ethics? Sadly, these two intertwined character traits seem to be deeply embedded not only in these individuals, but also in a large number of Cuban Americans in Miami. When will we learn?

  16. Carlos Gimenez has always been a power hungry grifter. This time, by backing Trump’s attempted coup attempt, Gimenez went too far. The world saw him for the Cuban scammer he is. Imagine a Cuban refugee backing a coup to put the dictator Trump in power?

  17. A disgrace to our community! His first week in office and he demonstrates his lack of leadership. South Florida struggles with our National reputation for incompetent government leaders..Gimenez just fueled the fire with his spineless vote against an election the voters of Miami Dade participated in on November 6th. BTW don’t forget Rick Scott, another stooge!

  18. I read your comments all the times and have never made a comment. However, as a Cuban-American and Professor of Cuban Studies it is shameful that after our experiences with Cuba these Cuban members of Congress would go along with a “ dictator” like Trump and then criticize the Cuban government for being undemocratic. Shame on them.

  19. Just because some criminals attacked the Capitol it doesn’t mean that the Democrats didn’t violate the constitution bu changing all of the rules about voting. Deflect, Confuse and Lie is their strategy Oh and don’t forget when they were inciting riots.

  20. ¡Que descaro! I learned a new Spanish phrase and I am forever grateful! Corrupt Carlos is a traitorous fool and may all his future endeavors be stained by his attempt to undermine a free and fair election.

  21. What else can be expected from a corrupt politician such as Carlos Gimenez?
This amoeba of a human being stole the 2012 mayoral election in Miami Dade County with the help of corrupt campaign manager Al Lorenzo. He went on to steal every dollar he could by handing out county contracts to his relatives the Munilla brothers and every other sleazy lobbyist in this town. It all worked great until the FIU bridge collapsed and killed and hurt several citizens.
Gimenez should have been indicted and prosecuted for multiple criminal violations during his tenure but of course, the equally corrupt State Attorney Kathy Rundle (another Al Lorenzo client) would have none of it.
Gimenez went on to win a seat in Congress with the help of whom? You guessed it! Al Lorenzo again and no sooner did he arrive in Washington DC he jumped head first in Trump’s rear hoping to be named Secretary of something in Trump’s re-elected government.
Sadly for Gimenez he will have to sit on the sidelines for four years as a minority in the House of Representatives and he will have to answer for his loyalty to Trump and disloyalty to our nation. Picture Gimenez as the Cuban American Benedict Arnold, a traitor to our Constitution but of course, every County employee already knew Gimenez as a vermin and a criminal.
From the halls of every County office you can hear the cheer of county employees hoping that Gimenez’s kidney stone is the size of an iceberg. He should experience the pain and suffering his avarice brought to way too many people in this County.
