It didn’t take long for PTA president and candidate Nancy Lawther to respond to the post earlier this week about being the proxy for Miami-Dade School Board Member Larry Feldman, who decided not 
to run and wants to anoint her instead.
And to follow his lying footsteps.
In a longish note to “members of the community” she posted on social media Monday, Lawther called the Political Cortadito story about Feldman’s voter fraud — living outside the district in West Kendall — a hit piece and “political smear.”
But nowhere in the four paragraphs, where she talks about her rise from just another PTA mom at her son’s elementary school to being elected president of the county branch, does she dispute a single fact in the story. Not how Feldman fooled voters and actually lives outside the district. Not that she was handpicked to be his proxy.

Nowhere does she talk about the fact that her mentor — who she admits recruited her to be his successor — has lied about his residence for 12 years and lives outside the district he represents. She doesn’t address it or even challenge it at all.
Not. One. Word.
It looks like it’s okay with Shamless Nancy Lawther that Lying Larry Feldman has lied to the same voters she hopes will now elect her. She seems okay with the news that her own school board member, the one whose endorsement she boasts, the one who personally called her up to ask her to run, lives in West Kendall’s District 7?
She says in her note that she has lived in District 9 since 1993. One just has to hope it’s not the same way that Lying Larry lived in Pinecrest for the past 12 years.
Because, turns out, Shameless Nancy is not so honest either.
The note makes reference to her reputation as a law abiding citizen. “During my tenure as Miami-Dade County Council PTA/PTSA President, the security guards nicknamed me ‘the Boy Scout’ because I would not even double park at the School Board building.”
Really? Boy Scout? Do they give out badges for careless driving?
According to records with the Miami-Dade Clerk of Courts, Lawther was charged with careless driving in Pinecrest in August of 2017. That’s not when Lawther, 70, was just learning how to drive or a reckless and wild flower child. No. That was three years ago. At the intersection of U.S. 1 and 120th Street. Ladra wonders if she was late to a PTA meeting.
Not only that, but Lawther got her license suspended in April of 2018 after she failed to attend the traffic school that a judge mandated after she pleaded no contest to the careless driving charge. He changed her disposition from nolle pros to guilty.
So, first she disregards the safety of others with the careless driving, and then she disregards the instructions of a judge.
Shameless Nancy is no Boy Scout. And she shouldn’t be a school board member, either.

You do realize that Nancy Lawther is endorsed by 13 other prominent community leaders (United Teachers of Dade VP Tony White, So. Fla. AFL-CIO President Jeffery Mitchell, State Representatives Jose Javier Rodriguez, Javier Fernadez, Nick Duran, Shevrin Jones, Pinecrest Mayor Joe Corradino, Pinecrest councilmembers Anna Hochkammer, James McDonald, and Katie Abbot, Palmetto Bay Mayor Karyn Cunningham, Sunny Isles Vice Mayor Larisa Svechin, Cutler Bay Councilmember Couriat) + the Miami-Dade Democratic Party, United Teachers of Dade, etc? What have any of these people and organizations ever done that she’s apparently now responsible for? If accepting an endorsement means she is the endorser’s puppet as you seem to believe, she’s got a lot of people to answer to. Is it possible Dr. Feldman endorsed her because he thinks she is the best person for the job? Feldman isn’t running, which seems to escape you. I’m far more interested in the allegations against Koren that recently came to light: removed as classroom teacher, charged with job abandonment, and potentially bogus PhD? Nancy’s PhD is from Yale. And if you’d bothered to check, she most certainly lives in Pinecrest. But apparently you’d rather just engage in childish name calling.
If you read the sources from those allegations you’d see that the classroom thing is from a lawsuit koren v school board where he actually sued the school board and won because those were false claims based on the principals retaliation. His PhD is very real and his dissertation is published in academic journals. All the sources in those pieces were misused and out of context. How would he have been removed from the classroom and then put back, to then be promoted to an assistant principal…

This is the most blatant disregard towards the residency requirements I’ve ever seen in Miami politics. I can’t believe Nancy Lawther is proud to be endorsed by this guy. Shameful indeed.

Am I the only one who thinks this lady brought this on herself with her never double parking rebuttal? I get that its petty but Ladra dug and Ladra found. If this PTA mom had followed the judge’s orders she wouldn’t have had her license suspended. Why is this so complicated? And why is Larry posting his resume? LMFAO!!!

These aren’t allegations. It’s proven here in his own Campaign Treasurer’s Report. His campaign is listed in Pinecrest but he loans himself money from his Kendall residence.

I wasn’t planning on voting for Lawther. I’m for Koren. However, the fact that the best opposition research her opponents can come up with against her is that she FORGOT TO PAY A TRAFFIC TICKET and was endorsed by the current holder of the office she’s running for seems pretty lame — especially because you people keep texting me about it, kind of makes me want to rethink.

The problem is he committed a federal crime, if you like that kind of person to control your district then that is fine for you. But the rest of District 9 would like to have lawful, honest, and true representation for our district. People of Color get thrown in jail all the time for committing crimes like his. why is it a white board member gets to get away with it?
Oh please. Anyone can copy and paste a bio in a comment box. He was demoted by Superintendent Stierheim and then ran for the board because Superintendent Crew refused to keep him on as a principal. I’ve worked with him. He isn’t anything to get too excited about.

What policies and platforms from Feldman, or proposed by Lawther do you object to? You’ve attacked Lawther on 2 premises:
1. That she didn’t object to the support of the currently elected Board Member, whom may or may not live in the district he was elected in.
2. She got 1 traffic ticket in the past 3 years in Miami. If not getting a ticket is a prerequisite for office then Miami’s going to need to outsource its government.
Lastly, I’ve received 3 unsolicited text messages attacking Lawther. I want to know where you received my number, who is financing the robo-texts, have the expenses been reported to the Miami Dade Supervisor of Elections. These text messages are a violation of The Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
Andrew, darling, I haven’t attacked anyone. I simply have written about a candidate who was hand picked by the incumbent who has been lying to voters for 12 years about where he lives, a candidate who is being pushed hard by an incumbent who committed fraud.
1. Like Yoda says, there is no “may or may not live in the district.” He does not, never did. You might be okay with that. Shameless Nancy might be okay with that. I am not and I think people should know than not only is she okay with that, but apparently — from her reaction — she knew and doesn’t care.
2. It’s not that she got a traffic ticket that’s newsworthy all by itself. It’s that she lies about it. It’s that she has the self-righteous audacity to say she is above reproach when she is not. It’s about exposing the false narrative that she creates out of convenience. She may just be running, but she’s already a politician.
Lastly, I haven’t called you once. There are lots of voters’ phone number lists and people buy them to conduct phone banks and this kind of unsolicited text messaging, which is becoming huge in national and countywide elections. If there is a violation of law here, I suggest you take your complaint to the right authority. I have no idea what you are talking about.

I guess the Apple doesn’t fall too far from the mentor tree? Maybe this is why she didn’t really respond to the Larry Feldman article in her letter to the public. Maybe she is just as bad when it comes to not following the laws….
What counts as careless driving? Wondering if she just did an oopsie when a police officer was there or it was something substantial. Is she just getting a little too old to drive? Missing traffic school was of course a large oopsie because you need to pay for and correct your mistakes.
I am sure she is a nice person when she is not running her car through people, but I do not believe that she is someone who should be in charge of our children and schools safety.

The “all of a sudden we have mayhem” is because absentee ballots drop this week and Ladra is always pushing the deadline. I haven’t decided who to support in the runoff but I can guarantee that it won’t be Moss, who will get there through sheer name rec and demographics. I just don’t want it to be Feldman’s proxy either.

Why didn’t Nancy just take a position? We don’t need more politicians who sidestep the issues. Ladra reported on Larry cheating the taxpayers, something that she reported on four years ago and yet nothing was done! Nancy probably didn’t weigh in on this because she is nothing more than a puppet.
