Can I get a Hallelujah?
More arrests are coming, as everybody knows by now through the Miami Herald’s dogged investigation, from the absentee ballot fraud investigation in Hialeah. Some say it’s going to be Miami-Dade Commissioner Esteban Bovo‘s secretary — who resigned right after boletera Daisy Cabrera was arrested for chasing ballots. This is apparently after she delivered 164 ballots to the post office.
The other one could be Sergio Robaina, who is apparently named by several voters that brave reporters Enrique Flor and Melissa Sanchez from El Nuevo Herald and Channel 41’s Erika Carillo spoke to.
Other voters couldn’t even name the person they voted for. Other voters couldn’t even remember their own names.
Ladra is having a dejavu. Because this happened last year when we caught, also on video, several ALF residents who didn’t know who they had voted for. And we also rolled the cameras as elderly in wheelchairs and diapers falling off came to vote at JFK Library during early voting, brought in by workers of Absentee Ballot Queen Sasha Tirador, who has been untouched by this latest controversy, and that’s the only bad thing about it.
But that Sergio Robaina, uncle of former Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina, has been named as a boletero — by someone other than Ladra — is vindicating. That Hialeah Councilwoman Vivian Casals-Muñoz and State Rep. Eddy Gonzalez are implicated is wonderful. That State Rep. Jose Oliva and wannabe/puppet Manny Diaz, Jr., who is being helped by this machinery in his bid for a state house seat, are also involved is gravy.
Investigators need to talk to all these people. And also to Emelina Llanes, caught red-handed last year during the Hialeah city elections collecting ballots in a multi-unit building. They need to talk to podiatrist Victor Verjano. They need to talk to Hialeah Councilwoman Isis “Gavelgirl” Garcia-Martinez, whose ill-gotten victory against former Councilwoman Cindy Miel solely on absentee ballots — because Miel won early voting and on election day — should be invalidated. To Julio Robaina himself and his puppet, current Mayor Carlos “Castro” Hernandez, who continues to send his goon squad police department after his political rivals at JFK. They need to talk to State Sen. Rene Garcia and former State Sen. Rudy Garcia, who hired Al Lorenzo, who is implicated in this and implicated Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez. Heck, they should talk to Gimenez, though I guess he’ll just keep denying, denying, denying. And, of course, they need to talk to Sasha, who has been investigated for AB fraud before and who everyone knows is the boss in this. She runs Llanes. She ran Gavelgirl’s AB very successful AB campaign. They should talk to Miami Lakes Councilman Cesar Mestre, another one of her clients.
Oh, and “Stevie” Bovo. Ladra does not believe for a second what he says about not knowing a thing about his secretary. Consider that Bovo hired Sasha Tirador for his 2011 commission campaign to fill the seat vacated by the recall of Natacha Seijas and paid her close to $50,000 for “grassroots weeks” one through four and for “voter outreach” — which, I don’t know, but sound like they could be code words for “AB operation” — in a race where he had no real opposition. He also paid people close to $20,000 for “campaign” work — including Llanes, who got two payments, one for $150 and one for $500. Ladra guesses she brought more ballots the second time around.
And including Anamary Pedrosa, Bovo’s secretary who was implicated and who will reportedly be arrested Friday. She got $2,000 for “campaign work.” And I am not surprised that former State Rep. J.C. Planas is her attorney. He’s Eddy Gonzalez’s attorney and that grupito’s attorney, also. Anamary — who I think was fired to start the cover-up — could say something against them. I thought there were rules against that kind of conflict of interest.
So, no, I do not believe for one second that Bovo is unaware of his secretary’s doings. Commissioner Bovo must think we are bobos. In fact, he may have “asked her to resign.” Call me jaded. You wouldn’t be the first.
Ladra smells a recall coming. More on that later.
Thank you Daisy Cabrera and thank you Joe Carrillo, the P.I. (more on that later) who taped the women chasing the ballots and opened this can of corrupt worms for the world to see.
Now, let’s watch more dominos fall.
