Ouch!

It didn’t take long for the Miami-Dade Republican Party to lashunnamed (3) out at former Congressman Joe Garcia, who announced Wednesday that he was going to run for his old seat again, which he lost in 2014 to a Miami-Dade School Board member named Carlos Curbelo.

Within hours, the @MiamiGOP had tweeted a photo collage of headlines that dogged Garcia during the 2014 election he lost to Curbelo.

“Scandal-plagued Democrat @JoeGarcia says he’s running for Congress in Miami again,” they tweeted.

“Ex-aide to Miami Rep. Joe Garcia to head to jail in absnetee-ballot case,” reads one Miami Herald headline from 2013.

“Feds intensify investigation on Rep. Joe Garcia’s former campaign manager,” reads another.

“Joe Garcia’s ballot scandal.”

“Democrat Joe Garica ‘Shifty, Shady.”

Well, you get the picture. They are making reference to Jeffrey “No Relation” Garcia, who was sentenced to 90 days after he pled guilty to absentee ballot fraud in a scheme that generated unsolicited AB requests via a computer program.

A few hours after, they released another photo — of a Monopoly “get out of jail” card with a photo of Garcia in the striped garb of prisoners. “This card may be used for this scandal or your next unethical endeavor,” it says.

Annette Taddeo and Joe Garcia when they were both on the same side — campaigning with former Gov. Charie Crist

The Miami-Dade GOP was never nearly as nasty to Annette Taddeo, another Dem candidate who has run for everything except the kitchen sink, last going for Lt. Gov. with Charlie Crist last year.

You think they are more scared of facing Joe? Ladra doesn’t know why. Each has lost an equal number of times. Maybe because Annette has never won?

“Annette is harmless,” said Miami GOP Chairman Nelson Diaz.

The district was redrawn to be even a little more blue. Barack Obama won it last time and Garcia — who lost two previous bids for the same seat — lost as a one-term freshman in an off year.

Poor District 26. You can’t keep anybody in office long enough to make a difference.
