Redistricting and the upcoming legislative sessions are the topics listed for discussion when the Women’s Republican Club of Miami Federated has Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera and Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen speak at Monday’s meeting.
But how much you wanna bet the Iran deal, which both are against, will be the main focus of the night?
The meeting provides ““an informal setting with an opportunity to ask questions,” said the club VP Marili Cancio.
“We expect to hear about the upcoming legislative sessions in Tallahassee and Washington, including the effect of the new redistricting maps to be decided by a Tallahassee court and the Iran deal among other matters of local interest,” Cancio told Ladra.
What they probably won’t talk about: The 2016 presidential GOP primary. That’s because Ros-Lehtinen — whose district is to be redrawn — supports former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush , who was her first campaign manager in 1989, and C-Lo joined Sen. Marco Rubio, who he hopes to replace in the Senate, at the Freedom Tower announcement that he would run for POTUS.
It would be some meeting if they did, huh?

“I certainly admire both,” Ros-Lehtinen told The Hill in June. “I prefer Jeb because of his experience. Jeb was my first campaign architect for my first race, he was the campaign chairman. And Marco was one of my first interns when I got to Congress.
Ros-Lehtinen said that Florida Governor was “a good place for” Rubio. “He’s got a young family.”
The meeting is at Crave Restaurant, 4250 Salzedo Ave., in Coral Gables. Registration and happy hour from 6 to 7 p.m., there will be an informal question and answer session after the legislators speak at 7:15 p.m. The event is free for members, $10 for non members.
