Miami-Dade School Board Member and congressional candidate Carlos “Crybaby” Curbelo keeps holding himself up as the “ethical” candidate in the District 26 race against incumbent Democrat Rep. Joe Garcia.
His advertising is focused on investigations of absentee ballot fraud and plantidate campaign tampering that has implicated the congressman’s former BFF and chief of staff, Jeffrey Garcia.
Now, Curbelo — who won’t disclose the clients his lobby firm hides under his wife’s name — has a list of questions he-who-does-not-answer-questions demands Garcia respond to.

And he even has a petition that he email-blasted on Wednesday.
Really? Really?
Yes, Curbelo apparently thinks he has the ground to stand on and make self-gratuitous statements about honesty, integrity and ethics.
Hey Friend – Did you sign our petition yet?
It’s sad – for far too long our community has been the victim of representatives who walk outside the law in order to pursue their personal political ambitions. This is not a Republican or Democrat issue, rather an issue of honesty, integrity, and ethics. Joe Garcia ran on ethics and integrity in 2012, knowing that in 2010, his campaign had recruited and illegally financed a fake candidate, while committing absentee ballot fraud. The FBI is now investigating the Garcia campaign, and it’s time for him to come clean and tell the voters of South Florida the truth.
Click here to sign our petition and demand that Joe Garcia answer these questions:
- Why have you retained David Markus, a sophisticated criminal defense attorney who is an expert in white collar crimes and corrupt practices?
- Who funded the fake candidacy of Roly Arrojo?
- How do you know Roly Arrojo?
- What was your role behind Roly Arrojo’s illegal candidacy?
- Do you still believe that a Congressman dealing with investigations shouldn’t be in congress?
Residents of South Florida deserve answers!
Well, that’s absolutely true. Ladra agrees with Curbelo, that Garcia — who has not been implicated in any of the shenanigans by the authorities — needs to respond to these questions and just be done with it.

But Curbelo certainly isn’t one to talk. Not until he answers some questions himself:
- Who are your clients?
- What’s the big deal in disclosing them if there is no conflict of interest?
- Isn’t that precisely why the disclosure laws exist for elected officials and candidates?
- If it truly was just something you did when you worked for Sen. George LeMieux and it was required and it’s no big deal, why haven’t you fixed it in the four years you’ve served on the school board?
- Why don’t you fix it today?
And one question for ourselves: Do we need to start a petition?
