Mayor Luigi “Look at Me” Boria has gotten into the publishing business — with a monthly newsletter he is now sending online.Luigi Boria

And he’s not even up for re-election this year.

Volume One of “The Mayoral Monthly” was sent last week, chock full of pictures and propaganda about the wonderful things that Luigi has done in Doral.

“The purpose of this newsletter is to keep you informed of the most important activities from the previous month,” Boria wrote in an email with the Adobe document attached.

“As Mayor of the City of Doral, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our thrilling City. It is not a mere formality to say it’s a real honor to have you among us,” Boria writes on the first page. The rest is more of him being in love with himself.

Pictures of a happy mayor and happy councilwomen at the Fourth of July celebration and the opening of a new park and someting called Biznovator Camp and awards for sixth graders at boria doralDoral Academy and the anniversary of D-Day as well as a resolution supporting the demonstrations in Venezuela — you know, because there has to be something Venezuelan in there.

There’s also a list of proclamations and special recognition given by Boria to individuals and organizations at city events.

There’s no mention, however, of the scandals that have marked Doral’s recent past.

Nothing about the revolving door of city managers and city attorneys as Boria gets rid of those who won’t do his bidding. Nada on the accusations from former Manager Joe Carollo that Boria does business with the Venezuelan government. Ditto on the multiple investigations revolving around Boria and his campaign finances or zoning issues on property owned by his children. It’s not featured in the Mayoral Monthly.

But maybe that’s for next month’s edition.
