From galas to stadiums to breakfasts to parks, Miami-Dade’s electeds were all over the place last week. This past couple of weekends seemed particularly busy.
The always gorgeous Aventura Councilwoman Luz Weinberg glammed it up at the Voice for Children gala Saturday nigh at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and smiled for the camera with Judge Brownwyn Miller, Swanee DiMare and Judge Migna Sanchez-Llorens.
State Rep. Jose Felix “One More Pepe” Diaz (R-Kendall) had a busy weekend, taking his son to Marlins Park for Miracle League of Miami-Dade event Saturday and attending the Rodeo Hispanoamericano at Tropical Park on Sunday, where he got an award from the executive board. Doesn’t look like he even got a chance to change his shirt, but I am sure he has dozens of them.
His colleague, State Rep. Eddy Gonzalez (R-Hialeah) was in Miami Beach Sunday enjoying the boat show with family.
Their colleague, State Rep. David Richardson (D-Miami Beach) hung out with former Gov. Charlie Crist on his campaign trail in Key West for Sunday brunch after Richardson spoke at the Dem Victory dinner Saturday.
In Coral Gables Sunday, Miami Beach Mayor Philip “FixIt Phil” Levine was apparently trying to make up for some boneheaded comments he made recently about the beach not being a place for techie start-ups when he showed up at the Refresh Miami “evening with Reddit Co-Founder Alexis Ohanian.” I hope they chewed his ear.
On Friday, the Miami-Dade Republican Party had a breakfast honoring Attorney General Pam Bondi and GOP women. They got flowers for Valentine’s Day. Ladra can’t possibly name them all, but Bondi is there in the middle — with black pantyhose, which she has to lose if she doesn’t want people to secretly call her by her imaginary stripper name (Pam Bondage) — flanked by Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Miami-Dade Commissioner Lynda Bell. We also have Councilwomen Bettina Rodriguez-Aguilera and Ana Maria Rodriguez from Doral there. Notice none of the cubanitas are wearing black pantyhose.
Older events from last week include the Miami-Dade League of Cities’ 60th Anniversary Installation Gala at Parrot Jungle Island, in which Pinecrest Mayor Cindy Lerner was made president and Miami Commissioner Francis Suarez was made vice president. In the photos, Lerner stands with Aventura Councilwoman Enbar Cohen; Commissioner Bell with Cutler Bay Councilwoman Sue Ellen Loyzelle, and Suarez with his very pregnant and beautiful wife Gloria Font and Miami Beach Commissioner Michael Grieco and his partner Christine Klingspor. Don’t the two ladies look like sisters? Consultant/political groupie David Guzman hangs out in the middle.
